Additionally, we boast a secure fenced area with a swimming pool, children’s pool, outdoor jacuzzi, parasols, and sunbeds. For adventure seekers, guests can take walks around our fields, among olive trees, or enter the woods for a more extended hike on the paths. We offer mountain bikes for those who want to explore the surrounding hills. We also have an agreement with a nearby riding school for guests who want a leisurely horseback ride.
Shopping enthusiasts will be happy to learn that The Mall, a designer outlet, featuring a vast selection of internationally acclaimed Italian brands, including Armani, Gucci, Prada, and more, is located only 10 kilometers from Podere Piana.
Furthermore, history buffs can explore and admire the impressive Romanesque art, including the Pieve di Pitiana (800m) and Pieve di Cascia (20 minutes) scattered throughout the region. For those interested in venturing further into the region, Florence is within reach.
WHAT to DO: You can use Podere Piana as a starting point to discover the real Tuscany among the beautiful Chianti hills, you can also stay in our swimming pool or in the garden. You can take a train to go to wonderful Tuscany, or to visit Florence, so the S. Ellero train station is only 6 km away. A few meters from the farm is the riding school of our friend Laura Club le Roverelle. It is nice to walk to Donnini, you can stop at the lake, or look at the view from the church of Pieve a Pitiana. In the country there are many summer events such as concerts, festivals. For shopping lovers, the outlet THE MALL and GROOVE are just a few minutes away by car.
WHAT TO SEE: what is there to see in Florence? More. We are just 20 km from the most beautiful city of Florence. It is truly a city rich in art and history: the Vasari Corridor, in the Uffizi. The Ponte Vecchio, Piazza del Duomo and the Opera del Duomo, Museums and more. Near us there are the ancient unique and spectacular cliffs of erosion, and the Romanesque churches like the one near us, Pieve a Pitiana, or the more famous Pieve di Cascia with the Art of Masaccio. A natural path is Vallombrosa, the Bosco and up to the Abbey just 6 km from us.
WHAT TO EAT: In Tuscany we like to eat croutons, sausages and cheese, with a good glass of Chianti, for traditional celebrations or special dinners and lunches, or during an aperitif. Some traditional Tuscan dishes are based on stale bread, because they are simple dishes of the peasant tradition. Absolutely to eat the steak: the Florentine steak, obviously cooked “rare”!
